What are the 8 goals established in the PTI Long Term Plan?
- Improve and grow community engagement.

- Sustain public trust.
- The CHP must continue to attract, train, grow, and keep the most qualified recruits if PT is to be successful.
- Align our policies and procedures to support and enhance public trust.
- Create CHP and CAHP leaders with full commitment to the ideal of Public Trust.
- Own our mistakes.
In order to improve and grow community engagement we must …
continue our unwavering dedication to serving the public while forming vital collaborations with the communities we serve.
To understand and promote selflessness …
We must keep our core principles at the forefront of every interaction by modeling CHP PRIDE. Internalizing the core principles must be a priority and one that is modeled from the highest levels of leadership to the most junior personnel. Selflessness is EXPECTED as part of how we see others as well as ourselves.
To achieve advanced levels of Professionalism across the CHP we must …
Realize that professionalism is a series of actions and growth that builds upon itself. It contains progressing attributes such as vocational excellence, ethics, engagement, continuous improvement, image, and selflessness. These attributes allow people to reach their full potential and improve the organization.
In order to sustain public trust …
We must be able to provide sustainable improvements until such time the organization becomes self-sustaining.
The CHIP can continue to attract, train, grow and keep the most qualified recruits by …
Adapting recruitment and training to meet the ever changing needs of California’s communities, including a workforce representative of those we serve.
In order to align our policies and procedures to support and enhance public trust we must …
Change and develop policies accordingly to sustain the long term objectives of public trust.
Creating CHP and CAHP leaders with full commitment to the ideal of public trust will…
Through leadership, make change real. Leaders must be convinced and empowered to share the unified vision of PT. Role modeling, guidance, recognition of small acts and corrections of undesired behaviors will ensure leadership is the linch-pin of the change effort.
Owning our mistakes …
Will help keep us from losing the public trust. When negative events occur it will be imperative for the CHP to “own the mistakes.”
