gather information, identify conflicting values, determine importance of conflicting claims, explore alternatives, choose and justify one alternative, implement the decision.
4 items in order for there to be a contract
mutual agreement, intent to do (or not do) something that is legal, action must occur in exchange of payment or services, parties must be legally able to enter into contract.
Physician has following 3 rights
to accept or decline a patient, to choose to limit practice to certain specialty or particular size, to decide where to practice
Patient has the following 7 rights
to refuse treatment, to receive complete information about procedures, to select a physician, to expect continuity of care, to expect confidentiality, to be treated with dignity and respect, to receive complete info on treatment, alternatives, and consequences of no treatment.

HIPAA guarantees patient right to access their medical records, to request accounting of their information, for all employees to trained in privacy, and reasonable measures be made to ensure protection of patient information.
