What did nazism advocate?
It advocated that humanity consisted of a hierarchy of races and life was no more than ‘the survival of the fittest’
What did Nazism consider vital?
Thry considered it vital to maintain racial purity
Who did they believe were the master race?
They believed the Aryans were the master race and that it was their job to remain pure and dominate the inferior races
What did the Nazis aim to create?
An empire (Reich) that only included members of the volk
What did Nazis also dream of?
A ‘Greater Germany’ which was the basis of Hitler’s demand for Lebensraum
What was Lebensraum?
Living space
What was the only way for Germany to obtain the raw materials, cheap labour and food supplies necessary for continental supremacy?
Only by the conquest of Poland, Ukraine and Russia was this possible
What was the aim of National Socialism?
Their aim was to transform German society and it rejected the valued
S of socialism, liberalism and christianity and in their place uphelp the concept of Volksgemeinschaft
What was Volksgemeinschaft?
A people’s community which stressed the development of a harmonious, socially unified and racially pure community
What did Volksgemeinschaft want to promote?
Traditional German values
What was HJ (Hitler Jugend)?
Hitler Youth
What were parents pressurised to do?
To enrol their children to the Hitler Youth
By 1939 what became compulsory?
Membership of the Hitler Youth
What was there a great stress upon?
Political indoctrination
What were genders moulded for?
Genders were moulded for their future roles in Nazi society
What were boys made to engage in?
Endless physical and military training and activities
What were girls prepared for?
They were prepared for their domestic and maternal tasks such as cooking

The Hitler Youth law which encouraged youths who hadn’t already joined to do so
