Q
What are the 3 elements of the CBT model?
A
1) Cognition: thoughts
- meaning a little phrase or image that pops up into your head (about anything
2) Behaviour: something that is seen (with exceptions)
→ you can also have private behaviours (counting to 10 in your mind is also a behaviour)
3) Feelings/emotions:
→ usually one or 2 words, that describes a felt sense localized in the body

Q
There’s the thing that happens to you, but there’s also the ___ of that thing which plays a MAJOR role
A
Interpretation; 2 people experiencing the same thought could have 2 wildly different emotions about it

Q
How do the 3 elements of CBT influence each other?
A
- Depending on what thoughts pop into your mind will affect your behaviour, which will then affect feelings, but then your feelings will also affect your thoughts (always in interaction)
→ the 3 are bidirectional, each influences another in each direction
