RAM
Random Access Memory. A primary memory unit that can be written to and read from.
ROM
Read-Only Memory. A primary memory that can only be read from.
DRAM
Dynamic RAM. A type of RAM that need constant refreshing.
SRAM
Static RAM. A type of RAM that uses flip-flops and does not need refreshing.
PROM
Programmable ROM. A type of ROM chip that can be programmed once.
EPROM
Erasable Programmable ROM. A type of ROM chip that can be programmed more than once using ultraviolet lights.
EEPROM
Electronically Erasable Programmable ROM. A type of ROM chip that can be modified by the user, which can be erased and written to repeatedly using pulsed voltages.

HDD
Hard Disk Drive. A type of magnetic storage device that uses spinning disks.
SSD
Solid State Drive. A storage media with no moving parts that relies on movement of electrons.
