The counting grid has an area of 4 mm x 4 mm and a depth of 0.2 mm. The volume of 1 big square is 0.2 μl, the complete counting chamber has a volume of 3.2 μl. For obtaining the number of WBC/μl, the cells in squares 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are counted.
