Hwa Rang movements, meaning, and age
29 movements – refers to the 29th Infantry Division, where tkd developed into maturity.
Named after Hwa-Rang youth group, originated in the Silla Dynasty in early 7th Century.

Significance of colour Black on the uniform
Black = impervious to darkness. Opposite of white (innocence and beginner).
3cm Black piping = the three kingdoms of ancient Korea: Silla, Baek-je, and Koguryo. Ancient Korean aristocrats wore Black piping.
