2.9 Transcription & Translation Flashcards
1
Q
How is RNA made? Where does it go?
A
A molecule made in nucleus. It is a single strand copied from 1 side of a DNA molecule. It then goes out into the cytoplasm.
2
Q
What is the process of RNA being made called? (Making the single strand by copying 1 side of DNA)
A

3
Q
What’s the difference between RNA and DNA
A
RNA is single stranded and the base ‘thymine’ is replaced with ‘uracil’
4
Q
What is mRNA
A
This is a specific type of RNA which leaves the nucleus to find a ribosome in order to make proteins.
