someone who has to leave their own country because they are in danger and who arrives in another country and asks to be allowed to live there
immigration into/to - from
the process in which people enter a country in order to live there permanently
expatriate
someone who lives in a country that is not their own country
settler
- someone who goes to live in a place where not many people live, and starts to make it into a community
- someone who intends to live permanentely in a new country
