commonly due to HPV
HPV –> cervical cancer
Transplant patients
Fish tank granuloma
Caused by mycobacterium marinum
Enters via broken skin
People who clean fish tanks
Impetigo
Golden crusting
Staphylococcus is commonest or strep
Erysipelas
Superficial cellulitis
Necrotising Fascitis
Extensive necrosis progressive to a rapidly destructive process
Exanthems
Acute inflammatory rashes associated with childhood infections
Systemic symptoms
Parovirus
Slapped cheek
Meningococcal menigitis
Glass test
if rash does not blanche then diagnosis
Kawasaki disesae
pyrexia, lymphadenopathy, swollen red lips, palmoplantar erythema, oedema of fingertips
Pityriasis Versicolor
Brown scaly macules on trunk
Affected areas do not tan in the sun
Mottled appearance after sun exposure
Secondary syphillis
Treponemal antibodies detected on blood tests
Erythematous macules on palms and soles of feet
Lyme disease
due to borrelia
