252 Flashcards
Icing conditions
10 deg C or below AND
Visible moisture
Or Ice, snow, slush or standing water on ramps, taxiways, or runways
Vol 1 adverse cold wx procedures
Probe heat on during preflight
Below -40C, do not attempt start of cold soaked an hour or more
Below -35, idle engines 2 minutes before moving thrust levers
If initial oil pressure above normal, operate at idle thrust
Engine anti ice on ground
Immediately after start if icing conditions present.
Don’t use when OAT >10 deg C
Use CONT ignition when on
Ground icing run ups
OAT 3 deg C or below, do engine runups as nec:
Clear behind AC
Engines minimum 70% N1 30 sec every 30 minutes
Ground icing runups, freezing rain/drizzle/fog/heavy snow
Run up minimum 70% N1 for 1 sec every 10 minutes
Icing conditions, flap retraction
Only to 15
FSR accuracy tolerances to block fuel
+1000/-200 lbs
Minimum fuel -800 / -900
3600 / 4000
Emergency fuel
3000
Min fuel buys you:
hold 1500AFE 30 min and fly one approach
Emergency fuel buys you:
Initiate missed at 200AFE, climb to 1500AFE and proceed downwind, fly another appch from 10 miles from runway end (approx 30 min fuel remaining)
Notify dispatcher lateral deviations
> 100NM from planned route
Notify dispatcher altitude deviations
More than 4000 from planned cruise alt for more than 30 min
Notify dispatcher ETA
Any condition that will affect ETA more than 15 min
Notify dispatcher fuel
Arrive at dest/alt less than min FAR fuel reserves
Fuel consumption greater than planned
