Define ‘Cloud Computing’.
The on-demand delivery of: - Computer Power - Database Storage - Applications and other IT resources through cloud services via the internet with pay-as-you-go pricing.
Provide an example of a ‘Maximum Control’ Computing Model.
Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas) - Running servers in the cloud similar to how they are run in a DC.
Provide an example of a ‘Minimum Maintenance’ Computing Model.
Software as a Service (SaaS) - A piece of software that can be run from the cloud completely.
Provide an example of a Computing model that is between ‘Maximum Control’ and ‘Minimum Maintenance’.
Platform as a Service (PaaS) - Servers that are already configured for your infrastructure, with room to be able to deploy customisations onto it (I.E. Elastic Beanstalk in AWS)
Provide 3 types of Cloud Deployment Models.
Public Cloud - Deployed onto a public cloud provider (like AWS).
On-Premises (Private Cloud) - Cloud-like platform in a private data centre.
Hybrid - Cloud applications connected to a private data center.
