What is an executive branch?

- executive branch is another term for the highest form of the government
- in the most modern democracies power is divided among three branches of Government:
- executive branch (who carry out laws; they are the most powerful key decision making body): the PM & cabinet; PM leads
- legislative branch: parliament; law making
- judicial branch: enforcing laws (the UK Supreme Court)
