What is an executive branch?

A
  • executive branch is another term for the highest form of the government
  • in the most modern democracies power is divided among three branches of Government:
  1. executive branch (who carry out laws; they are the most powerful key decision making body): the PM & cabinet; PM leads
  2. legislative branch: parliament; law making
  3. judicial branch: enforcing laws (the UK Supreme Court)
