AMD
Aviation Maintenance Department- coordinate and control of aircraft maintenance performed by, and in support of, squadrons and units under the cognizance of the MAG CO, and material condition and combat readiness of assigned weapons systems and equipment
AMO
Aviation Maintenance Officer - head of the AMD; responsible for the overall performance of the entire AMD; staff consists of AAMO [Assistant Aviation Maintenance Officer] & AMC [Aviation Maintenance Chief]
Ten Divisions of the AMD
Quality Assurance Production Control Power Plants Ordnance Airframes Avionics Aviation Life Support Systems Support Equipment Maintenance Administration Individual Material Readiness List
QA
Quality Assurance - staffed with highly skilled personnel, usually SNCOs, inspect required maintenance actions, provides publication support for the department
PC
Production Control - coordinate and monitor the maintenance departments workload to ensure efficient movement of components throughout the department
P/P
Power Plants - provides engine repair
ORD
Ordnance - assemble, disassemble, repair, and service aviation ordnance equipment
A/F
Airframes - provides maintenance to all squadrons within the MAG on:
a. hydraulic, hose, and tube fabrication/testing
b. structures and nondestructive inspection (NDI)
c. tire, wheel, and corrosion control
AVI
Avionics - provide communications and navigation (COMNAV); aerial photographic equipment; provide Communications Security (COMSEC); Telecommunications Security (TSEC)
ALSS
Aviation Life Support Systems - defined as: “Those items of equipment and clothing needed to allow aircrew members to function within the flight environment.”
S/E
Support Equipment - provide testing, troubleshooting, and repair for most common aircraft support equipment used by units within the MAG
M/A
Maintenance Administration - to be the central source for:
a. aircraft related documents
b. manage/maintain a record keeping system
c. providing statistical data
IMRL
Individual Material Readiness List - manages, budgets, and distributes all common and peculiar support equipment
