Many people setting out and leaving a place; the name of the second book of the Bible; ‘exit’.
What is Haggadah?
Hebrew word meaning ‘telling of the story’.
What is matzah?
Flat bread made without yeast, often eaten during Passover.
What is Passover?
A special holiday that Jewish people celebrate to remember when God saved them from slavery in Egypt.
What is the Sabbath?
A day of rest; for Christians, it’s Sunday, and for Jewish people, it’s Saturday.
What is a Seder?
A special meal Jewish families have during Passover.
What does the rainbow symbolize in the story of Noah?
The rainbow is a special sign of God’s promise to Noah after the big flood. God promised never to flood the whole world again.
Who were Isaac’s parents?
Isaac was the son of Abraham and Sarah, two very important people in the Bible.
What were the Ten Plagues of Egypt?
These are the things that God sent to Egypt to help free His people: River of Blood, Frogs, Gnats, Flies, Death of Livestock, Boils, Fiery Hail, Locusts, Darkness, The Death of the First-Born.
What special foods are eaten during Passover?
Jewish people eat special food at Passover, like: Matzah, Bitter herbs, Lamb or a lamb bone, Salt water, Haroset, Karpas.
Who was Moses?
Moses was a great leader chosen by God. He was raised by an Egyptian princess but was actually a Hebrew. He was saved as a baby when he floated in a basket on the Nile River.
What happened at the Red Sea?
When Moses and the Hebrews were running away from Egypt, God told Moses to stretch out his staff over the Red Sea. The water split in half, and the Hebrews walked through on dry ground.
What is the Passover celebration?
Passover is a Jewish holiday that lasts eight days. The first night has a special meal called the Seder, where families eat special food and tell the story of how God saved the Hebrews from Egypt.
What is the New Covenant made by Jesus?
Jesus is God who became a man. He made a new promise (or covenant) between God and all people.
What are the Ten Commandments?
These rules are still important today because they teach us to love God and love other people. They tell us not to hurt others, steal, or lie, and remind us to respect our parents.
