Q

What is Banduras Social learning theory

A

Bandura Believed that people learn by watching the behaviour of others. If children watch adults gaining pleasure from an activity then the child is most likely to repeat the behaviour however, if the adult is being punished from the activity then the child is most likely to reject the behaviour

same way Bandura believed agression can be learned through observing the behaviours of others and in order to prove his theory Bandura conducted an experiments known as the Bobo Doll Experiment.

Q

What is the Bobo Doll experiment

A

The bobo doll experiement involved exposing children to two different adult models one aggressive model and one non aggressive model.

The aggressive model was seen to kick and attack the doll by hitting it throwing it in the air and all sorts of violent measures after witnessing the behaviour of the adults the children were placed into a room without the model and were observed to see if they would follow the behaviours they had witnessed earlier.

the experiment showed that the children who were exposed to the aggressive model tended to copy such behaviour and even came up with new ways to hurt the doll and the children who were exposed to the non aggressive model demonstrated less aggression towards the bobo doll.
