Independent
Member of parliament not associated with a political party, they have different views and values from those main political parties. They can never form the gov but a major party will rely on their votes to pass important bills
Policy
a statement of principles to guide action for the future, have interferences to implement policies such as media, views of leaders, voters’ opinion.If gov does not hold majority of seats in senate, will need to negotiate with different senators to gain support for the new legislation
Right wing left wing political parties
Left wing - Greens, on climate action and social equality.
Central left - Labor, supports workers’ rights and public services by increasing taxes
Central right - liberal, favor free-market policies and low taxes.
Right - National, supports rural Australia.
