Q

Who opposed the Military Service Act?

A

The people of Quebec, as their ancestors had been there for a while, and felt no loyalty towards Britain (additionally, since very few people from Quebec enlisted, those who did felt out of place, as barely anyone spoke French)

Farmers and miners, as the ones who didn’t get conscripted were expected to increase output for less money

immigrants
