Lisa works everyday (continuous present.)

The phone rang at 7 o’clock (simple past.)
The phone was ringing the whole day (continuous past.)

Also, does Swedish have continuous forms of the verb?

Telefonen ringde klockan 7.
Telefonen ringde hela dagen.

Swedish only has the one simple form of the present and of the past, which are used to translate both the simple and continuous forms in English.
