What is GDP Per Capita ?
The GDP per capita is the total value of all the goods and services produced by a single country in 1 year divided by the population of that country.

The fertility rate is the number of live births per 1000 women BETWEEN the ages of 15 and 44.

The birth rate is the number live births per year.
What is the literacy rate ?
The literacy rate is the percentage of people above the age of 15 who can read and write.
What is the death rate ?
The death rate is how many people die per year.
What is the infant mortality rate ?
The infant mortality rate is how many babies die before their first birthday (per 1000 babies).

The Human Development Index is a way of measuring development in a country
What are 3 factors that can affect a countries development and why ?
Any of these are acceptable :
Location because they are landlocked and have no ports.
Climate because it affects their agriculture.
Terrain because it affects there buildings.
Clean water accessibility as it affects there life expectancy.
Why is the Human Development Index a superior way of measuring development ?
The Human Development Index is superior because it doesn’t take one factor into account, it takes many, meaning that it would provide a wider view of how a country has built up in the multiple areas that are measured.
What affect does political corruption have on a countries development ?
Corruption in the government would slow the countries development because it would draw money away from investing in important public services such as healthcare and education, causing a worse standard of living for the people.
