Q

Give arguments against state funding of politics

A
  • may isolate parties from public wishes as they no longer rely on their support (through donations) outside of elections
  • funding based on seats may perpetuate funding between parties, and smaller parties will struggle to fund
  • alienates voters from their money: they loose control over who they donate too
  • current system ensures parties are independent from the state
