Q

bar graph

A

heights of the rectabgles represnt frequencies/relative frequencies of the categories. relative is usually in decimals including the scales frequency is in whole numbers

Q

pareto chart

A

a bar grapgh that is useful to see clearly which are the most frequently occuring categories. the categories are presented in order of frequency or relative frequency

A

bar grapgh that is horizontal, more convenient when categories have long names

A

used to compare the same categories so you construct them in the same axes with the same category next to each other

Q

pie charts

A

alternative to the bar grapgh; used to display relative frequency info. the relative sizes of sectors match their relative frequencyies of the catgory. If the catory has a relative freuqnecy of .22, the sector takes up 22% of the circle. usually expressed in percentages

Q

constructing pie charts

A

multiply the relarive frequency by 360 to find how big each sector should be
