How do you adjust the volume of the aural warning system?

A

It is not adjustable by the pilots because the aural warning system does not go through the volume control switches

What is the purpose of the VOICE/BOTH switch?

A

BOTH allows the pilot to hear the Morse code and voice messages from the station. VOICE filters out the morris code so only the voice message can be Heard.

Explain the EMER/NORM switch on the ACPs

A

When there is a failure of the audio integrating system, the EMER positions should be selected. This causes the electronic circuits of the audio integrating system to be bypassed and most of the ACP functions will be in operative if the pilot were to select, his headset will be directly connected to NAV 1 and VHF 1. the aural warning system will be operable.

What is the purpose of the FDR EVENT switch?

A

This will highlight an event on the FDR. The highlight is accomplished by pressing the FDR EVENT switch for two seconds, which will then display a green FDR EVENT advisory status message.
