why was there a rise in the gentry
wealth began to be spread out, not only held by the nobility. people were Abel to make money from trade. the gentry grew and started to fill important and powerful roles such as MPs and JPs

they were ignored or threatened with severe punishment. It was believed that they were lazy and undeserving.
