Reducing Breast Cancer Risk: (5)
- Planning for first birth before the age of 30
- Breastfeeding for at least six mos
- Avoidance/limited duration of use of HRT
- Avoidance of unnecessary exposure to radiation (eg, inappropriate use of computed tomography)
- Adopting a physically active, healthy lifestyle:
- -Adequate exercise
- -Avoidance or cessation of smoking
- -Limiting alcohol intake
- -Maintain healthy weight
- -Limiting nocturnal shift work
Meds that decrease dopamine: (5)
Antipsychotics, TCAs, SSRI’s, verapamil, methadone
Milky Discharge from nipple causes:
- cirrhosis
- drug-induced (psychotropic agents & phenothiazines)
- endocrine disorders
- hypothyroidism
- lactation
- pituitary prolactinoma
- pregnancy
- renal disease
Spontaneous unilateral, bloody discharge from nipple causes: (3)
- ductal carcinoma in situ
- intraductal papilloma
- Paget’s disease of the breast
Clear, serous, green, black, and non-bloody discharges that are multi-ductal/uni-ductal:
- usually do not indicate a concerning condition
- intraductal papilloma which can harbor CA
less than 21 day interval between menses
Polymenorrhea
bleeding after intercourse
Post-coital bleeding
Define Menopause:
cessation of menses for > 1 yr.
Define Perimenopause:
time of transition from menstrual to non-menstrual life
A woman who has given birth more than 3 times
Grandmultipara or grandmultip
A woman who has given birth two or more times

A who has given birth to only one child
Primipara
A woman who has never given birth or who has never had a pregnancy progress beyond the gestational age of an abortion (20 weeks)
Nullipara or nullip
A woman who has been pregnant more than once
Multigravida
A woman who is in or who has experienced her first pregnancy
