A

Prince Henry wanted to convert africans to Christianity and possibly find the sources of riches there. Through the exploration of Africa, the Portuguese found India and established a massive trading empire from spices.

A

Columbus wanted to sail West to find Asia, and Spain funded his journey in hopes of gaining honor back and creating a stronger Nation. He found a new continent, which was part of the Americas.

A

The treaty held the specific terms of the Line of Demarcation, signed between Spain and Portugal. The Line divided the non-European world into two zones. Spain rights = west, Portuguese rights = east.

He and his screw sailed from Spain to South America, all the way around the the Pacific (previously discovered by Balboa). They continued on to the Phillipines, and further toward home. First ones to sail across the world.

A

They sailed along the coast, setting up forts and trading posts along the way. When they reached the East coast, they fought and drove out the Arabs.
