What are 4 general rules to stay in control of your car when the car is hydroplaning, tire blowouts, skidding on ice/snow?
General Rule to Stay in Control of Your Car:
β
Ease off the gas β This helps slow down gradually without skidding.
β
Donβt slam the brakes β Sudden braking can cause you to lose traction (especially in hydroplaning, tire blowouts, or icy roads).
β
Hold the steering wheel firmly β Keeps your car stable and prevents sudden jerks.
β
Steer gently β Avoid overcorrection, which can cause the car to spin out.
This applies to many situations, including:
π Hydroplaning β Ease off the gas, steer gently.
π Tire blowouts β Hold the wheel firmly, slow down gradually.
π Skidding on ice/snow β Same approach: no sudden moves!
