- Basic lesions
A
- Macule- area of discolouration, not raised or palpable
* If doesn’t blanch/pale if pressed with glass,then purpura - Petechiae, purpura, ecchymosis- bleeding in skin; petechiae smaller than purpura and ecchymosis;do not blanch when pressed. Purpura sometimes palpable.
- Papule- solid palpable lesion,0.5 cm in diameter
- Plaque- Well-defined plateau-like elevation over large area
- Nodule- Solid, round palpable lesion. size differentiates from papule
- Pustule- Palpable cavity containing purulent exudate
- Vesicle/ Bullae- thin-walled, translucent pimple/blister containing fluid

scale (flaky), excoriation (scraped), hyperkeratosis, lichenification (skin becomes thickened and leathery) or exudation (fluid)
