  1. Basic lesions
A
  1. Macule- area of discolouration, not raised or palpable
    * If doesn’t blanch/pale if pressed with glass,then purpura
  2. Petechiae, purpura, ecchymosis- bleeding in skin; petechiae smaller than purpura and ecchymosis;do not blanch when pressed. Purpura sometimes palpable.
  3. Papule- solid palpable lesion,0.5 cm in diameter
  4. Plaque- Well-defined plateau-like elevation over large area
  5. Nodule- Solid, round palpable lesion. size differentiates from papule
  6. Pustule- Palpable cavity containing purulent exudate
  7. Vesicle/ Bullae- thin-walled, translucent pimple/blister containing fluid

A

scale (flaky), excoriation (scraped), hyperkeratosis, lichenification (skin becomes thickened and leathery) or exudation (fluid)
