1ST PART (PG 72 - 74) Excluding Activity Flashcards
What are noble gasses? State all of them as examples.
Noble or inert gasses are gases, which are non reactive to any of the elements present. Their examples are: helium, Argon, Neon, Radon, Xenon, and Krypton.
What are non metals? What are they used for? Give 5 examples.
Non metals are elements, which of them mostly help us in survival. their applications are: like oxygen helps all the living organisms survive through breathing, carbon dioxide is needed by plants to conduct photosynthesis, and nitrogen forms form 78% of the air in free state and also creates a food nutrient vital to humans known as proteins. Their examples are: oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, Sulphur, and hydrogen.
As we have learnt that seawater is a major source of metals, can you name the metals it has in the form of salts.
Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium, and Sodium.
The most abundant metalloid in Earth’s crust is _____________.
Silicon
The most abundant metal in Earth’s crust is _________________.
Aluminum
Which metals are found in free state because they are not reactive?
Gold and platinum.
The most abundant non metal in Earth’s crust is __________.
Oxygen
What are metals? What are they used for? Give 5 examples.
Metals are elements, they are lustrous,, they are strong, they are sonorous, and they can form alloys. They’re mostly used for making utensils, weapons, ornaments, and machines. the five examples are: gold, silver, platinum, aluminum, and iron.
Name all the non metals:
