Individualism doesn’t make it easy to violate social norms

A

In order to violate social norms you need to come up with an original thought, but with the constant sifts in society it becomes difficult to be the only one to have thought of an idea/come up with that concept.

Q

Self esteem and intelligence doesn’t matter, but the specific knowledge of the issue does

A

In order to lower someone’s self esteem there needs to be proof or some information that can provide evidence against someone’s beliefs. Without proof someone doesn’t feel affected by other’s words.
EX: if someone is called ugly they may take initial offense but brush it off. On the other hand if someone points out insecurities and judges their personality there will be a more significant impact to their emotions.
