Q

Using an illustration we talked about in class, tell me two very different views offered from the scientific community and the Christian community.

A

A believer and nonbeliever walk into the garden of Eve on day 8. They see Adam and Eve, cut a tree in half and a mountains layers. They interpret their finding according to very different ideas. The Christian says everything was created supernaturally within a week. The nonbeliever denies the supernatural possibilities in genesis and strives to explains what he sees naturally. He therefore assumes everything we see came about over a lot of time and seeks to explain everything without God

Q

If God knew that the devil would bring sin death and all evil into the work by tempting Adam and Eve to eat of the forbidden tree why did he create it?

A

God created the tree for us to not eat from as a way for us to freely show him love. If he had not given us such a command we could not have shown him love freely.

Q

Still isn’t God ultimately responsible for evil since he could stop it?

A

No. By definition evil is the absence of God. When we sinned we drove God out and now suffer evil as a result. Besides God did put an end to all evil when he sent Jesus to die in the cross. It’s only a matter of time before Jesus ends evil forever

My birthday year is based on his life
His tomb is empty
His teachings have changed billions of lives throughout history. All his disciples gave their lives for what they saw in Him

Why did Jesus have to be God/God’s Son

A

19
Q

The Bible has over 300 prophecies about the Messiah who was to come one of which included rising form the dead. Share an illustration that explains the odds of Jesus fulfilling just eight of those prophecies which he did plus all 300

A

The odds of just eight of these prophecies being fulfilled in any one person is mathematically impossible. It would be the equivalent of taking an area the size of Texas filling it with mint cookies two feet high licking the chocolate off of just one and tossing it back stirring up all the cookies and blindfolding someone to walk all of Texas having just one chance to find that cookie.

20
Q
