- In March 1993, two children were killed and 50 injured or killed by bombs left in rubbish bins in Warrington, Cheshire
- Atrocities continued in NI - 8 protestants were killed in Jan 1982 working at a British army base.
- Even after the Downing Street Declaration violence continued by extremists - Downing Street and Canary Wharf

- John Major worked well with the leader of the Irish Republic, Albert Reynolds. They Signed an agreement December 1993 called the Downing Street Declaration.
- The loyalists announced a ceasefire in 1994
- The IRA announced a ceasefire in 1994 as a result of the negotiations Major made
- Protest movements against violence in London, Dublin and Belfast.
