- UK withdraw from Greece and Turkey, didnt want USSR to gain controll of these places as if they did they would easily move into the middle east (oil)

Foreign policy set up by US to warn USSR (indirectly) that US would intervene with any country being taken over by an armed minority
Why didnt Truman take the issues in Greece to the UN?
He was worried that Stalin would use his veto

- Benifit the US economy by building up Europes economy
- Promote European unity

- Aimed to coordinate communist countries across Europe, Establish link between communist parties
