18. Hydraulics✅ Flashcards
How are the three hydraulic systems named?
Green, blue and yellow systems
How is it system powered?
Green – engine driven
Blue – electrical
Yellow – engine driven and electrical
When does the blue pump normally operate?
After the first engine is started
If the Blue system lost pressure, How would pressure be restored?
🔷RAT must be deployed.
🔷 Does not deploy automatically upon Blue system loss of pressure, so must manually deploy with RAT MAN ON pb.
What can be done to correct the low ACUM PRESS indication?
On the ground, coordinate with personnel and turn on the beacon and yellow electric pump
With no hydraulic system power, how can the forward cargo door be open?
Are using a hand pump
What causes the PTU to operate in auto?
Differential pressure of 500 psi between the green and yellow systems
After first engine start until second engine starts
What are some of the green system users?
GBS1 Gear Normal Brakes Slats Flaps Rev 1
What are some of the users on the blue system?
Emergency generator
Slats
What are some of the users of the yellow system?
FNA2
Flaps
Nose Wheel Steering
ALTN Brakes
What would cause a fault light in the engine one pump?
POLL Pump Low Press Over temp in reservoir Low Air Pressure Reservoir Low Reservoir Quantity
How do you know which fault has occurred?
ECAM Will display the fault
When would RAT deploy automatically?
Loss of all ac power
Above 100 knots
When is the PTU inhibited?
🔷 On ground w/ Master Switches split AND either NWS disconnected OR Parking Brake ON
🔷 for 40 seconds after cargo door is operated
What do priority valves do in the HYD system?
Removed HYD power from the heavy users and protects the flight controls.
