As quality of life is hard to measure, how do we make it easier?

Use standardised, comparable measures of economic activity (e.g. GDP per capita)

Are indicators always accurate representations of the general population?
A
No, as whatever the indicator is measuring may be spread unevenly. So GDP may be only increasing for a proportion of the population, not all.
