17.3 Power Leaver Operation Flashcards
Lever movement from A to B?
Blade angle remains the same
Speeder spring will remain where it is
RPM increases with fuel flow
At position B constant speeding will occur
Propeller starts to move off the ground fine pitch stop
Lever movement from B to C?
Governor now regulates the propeller, rather than fuel flow directly
Blade angle responds to increased fuel flow to absorb extra power
Maintaining constant RPM
Constant speeding means the governor is regulating what?
The speed of propeller within certain RPM ranges
Lever movement from C to D?
Fuel flow increase
RPM increases to maintain optimum blade angle
Lever movement D to E?
In take off, more RPM is needed
The power lever moves the speeder spring down, this reduces blade angle allowing prop RPM to increase
