Engine fire on ground during start

A

Keep mags on START to get a start which will suck flames and fule into the engine

If Engine Starts:
Run at 1800RPM for a few min the shutdown

If Engine Doesn’t Start:
Throttle - FULL
Mixture - OFF
Mags - CRANK

Fuel valve - OFF
Fule pump - OFF

Fire extinguisher - deploy

Master - OFF
Cabin heat/air - OFF

100KTS to put out fire

A

Master - OFF
Vents, Heat/Air - CLOSED
Fire Extinguisher - DEPLOY

Avionics and all other switches - OFF
Vents open once fire out to clear smoke

A

Master - OFF
Vents - CLOSED
Fire Extinguisher - DEPLOY

Vents open once fire is out to clear smoke

Wing Fire

A

All light switches and pitot heat - OFF

Sideslip to keep flames away from fuel tanks and cabin and land ASAP, using flaps only as required for final and touchdown

Fuel Selector - BOTH
Fuel Pump - ON
Mixture - RICH
Mags - START (if prop is stopped. If windmilling, leave nags in BOTH and it will start on its own)
