radiotracer in pet scan
Fluorodeoxyglucose
Centrally acting antihypertensive agent
Methyldopa,Moxonidine, clonidine
IWMI artery involved
RCA
Drug most imp. in stable angina pectoris
Aspirin
ASWMI(elevation in V1-V4) involved
LAD
Anterolateral
Leads :V1-6, I, aVL
Proximal left anterior
descending
Posterior
Posterior infarction is confirmed by ST elevation
and Q waves in posterior leads (V7-9)
Changes in V1-3
Reciprocal changes of STEMI are typically seen:
horizontal ST depression
tall, broad R waves
upright T waves
dominant R wave in V2
Left circumflex also RCA
Prolonged QT mechanism
Blockage of potassium channel
the role of troponin in cardiac muscle?
component of thin films
Mechanical valve INR
Mechanical valves - target INR:
aortic: 3.0
mitral: 3.5
Nicornadil MOA and uses
Potassium-channel activator. Nicorandil is a vasodilatory drug that acts as both a nitrate and a non-selective potassium channel activator. It opens up ATP-sensitive potassium channels in the smooth muscle of coronary and peripheral blood vessels, leading to hyperpolarization and relaxation. This results in an increase in blood flow to the myocardium (heart muscle) and a reduction of the heart’s workload, thus alleviating angina symptoms.
Wide Pulse pressure + Early diastolic murmur
AR
Atrial fibrillation - cardioversion:
amiodarone + flecainide
widespread systolic murmur, hypotension, pulmonary oedema after MI
rupture of papillary muscle
Valvular condition 2ndry to syphilis
AR- Early diastolic murmur
SVT in asthmatics
Verapamil is DOC not adenosine
MS murmur
Mid diastolic
HOCM murmur
Systolic Ejection
