152 Lab Practical Flashcards
How to store all solutions?
Solutions 1-4 and the unknown are to be quantitatively transferred to labeled french square botteles.
Step 1 of calibrating logger pro?
Place solution 1 in a cuvette via quantitative transfer and place this cuvette in the spectrophotometer.
Step 2 of calibrating logger pro?
Click Experiment in the top left corner of logger pro, go down to calibrate and select spectrometer.
Step 3 of calibrating logger pro?
Allow the light bulb to warm up and then press finish Calibration and ok
How to know if the graph has been configured?
the absorbance should read around 0.000 with solution 1 in the spectrophotometer
Step 1 in configuring logger pro?
Soultion 2 can be placed in a cuvette via quantatative transfer and then placed in spectrophotometer after having been calibrated with solution 1.
Step 1 in configuring logger pro?
Press collect, wait 10 seconds, press stop, then press autoscale graph, analyze and then interpolate.
Step 1 in configuring logger pro?
Hover mouse over the peak of the graph to determine the lambda max and record the value
What should lambda max be around?
~450nm
Where will lambda max be found?
at the peak of the graph.
Step 1 in configuring logger pro?
Press the configure spectrophotometer button, which is rainbow and left of the collect button, and press ok
What will the graph do once the finishing step has been completed in configuring logger pro?
It will switch to a blank page and the absorbance will be displayed in the bottom left corner.
How should the 50 mL vol. flask be cleaned before creating the .001M NaSCN dilution?
With pure water
How should the pipette tip be cleaned before pipetting the NaSCN into the 50 mL Vol Flask?
With 0.02 M NaSCN
How should the pipette tip be cleaned before pipetting the NaSCN into the 25 mL Vol Flask?
0.001M NaSCN
