training which occurs not in the job
+ safer, more motivating
- might be costly
- not always relevant if not directly linked to jobs
What are some benefits of training for different positions
- owners: higher level of productivity
- employees: reduces anxiety so more able to do their jobs
- customers: better quality products and better customer service
When is training required
- new employees join
- introduction of new technology
- new work place practices
- health and safety legislation changes
What is a factor when considering training
- cost of training
- training is extremely expensive and is often the first finance to get cut
