Weaknesses of the AoC

A
  1. Each state only had one vote in Congress, regardless of size.
  2. Congress did not have the power to tax.
  3. Congress did not have the power to regulate foreign and interstate commerce.
  4. There was no executive branch to enforce any acts passed by Congress.
  5. There was no national court system.

A
  1. Provisions for governmental expansion. (Land Ordinance of 1785 & Northwest Ordinance of 1787)
  2. Establishment of systems that encourage coalescence. (Dept. of Treasury, Postal Service, & Foreign Affairs)
