WHAT WAS THE 13TH AMENDMENT?
Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.
WHAT WAS THE 14TH AMENDMENT?
“all persons born or naturalized in the US…are citizens of the US… No state shall deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law.”
“No person shall be a Senator or Rep in Congress, or Elector of President or VP, or hold any office, civil or military…who, having [served in public office before the war] shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. Congress may, by a vote of 2/3 of each house, remove such disability”
