World Ocean
All the oceans, which are interconnected to encircle the world
freshwater

Prime Meridian
A line from the North Pole to the South Pole through the Royal Observatory in Greenwich England
Longitude
the distance east or west from the Prime Meridian on a scale where 0 degrees is at the Prime Meridian and 180 degrees is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Prime Meridian
Polar Zones
the area north of the Arctic Circle or South of the Antarctic Circle
temperate zones
the area between the Tropic of Cancer and the Arctic Circle, and the area between the Tropic of Capricorn and the Antarctic Circle
erosion
the wearing away of rock along the coastline
geomorphology
the study of the physical features of the surface of the Earth and their relation to its geological structures and processes
continental slope
the steeper slope from the continental shelf to near the abyssal
abyssal plain
the generally flat ocean floor usually at depths of 3000-6000 m
