AC generator uses a slip ring to change the current while DC generator uses a commutator
describe in point form how an AC generator produces an electrical current
-armature rotates so one side is going up in magnetic field
-as the side going up moves to the opposite pole, the current changes direction, causing it to go down in the magnetic field
-the slip ring allows this change to occur and for the armature to rotate continuously from mechanical to electrical energy
