Abhor
Find repugnant; to feel hatred for

Approbation
Official acceptance or agreement
ex: “a plan that has won the approbation of the mayor”
Beseech
Ask for or request earnestly; to beg for urgently or anxiously
ex: “to do that, Oliver had to beseech the states to take a stand and ratify the ERA”
Bestow
Give as a gift; put to use
ex: “he had chosen to bestow his spare time to study”
Capacity
The power to learn/retain knowledge; the maximum amount that can be contained
ex: “the large seating capacity”
Chide
Scold or remind serverely or angrily; to disprove an action
ex: “the teacher had to chide the student who didn’t do their homework”
Coffer
A chest especially for storing values; a recessed panel in a vault
ex: “put the money in the coffer”
Commendation
A message expressing a favorable opinion; something (formal citation) that commands
ex: “their hardworking deserves a commendation”

A remark expressing praise and admiration; a formal act/expression of respect

A feeling of positive regard; goodwill
ex: “to win the favor of the king”
Grace
The free and unmerited favor or beneficence of God; courteous goodwill
ex: “at least he has the grace to admit his debt to her”
Grieve
Cause to feel sorrow; great sadness

Laudable
Worthy of high praise; praiseworthy, commendable
ex: “reorganizing the files was a laudable idea”
Mercy
Leniency and compassion shown towards offenders; an act of kindness, compassion, favor

The physical condition of blocking or filling a passage; something that obstructs (blocks, closes up w/an obstacle)

The possibility of future success; the outlook for the future
