What was the significance of the Battle of Stamford Bridge? (2)
A

- However, one could argue that the battle was what caused Harold’s ultimate defeat. Harold’s men were tired out by the Battle of Stamford Bridge and they did not have the energy needed to defeat William’s forces at the Battle of Hastings which happened less than a month later

How did a Norman retreat turn into a Norman victory at the Battle of Hastings?
A
