He wrote two great masterpieces of Christian faith, Summa Contra Gentiles and Summa Theologica. Books were very important for him as he was educated by books. His parents though did not want him to join the Dominican friars because he came from a wealthy family and did not want him begging on the street. They did not want him ruining the family name so his own family imprisoned him to try and stop him but that did not even work.
