3
Q
Why has London and SE (Berkshire) grown so fast?
A
- Post Colonial Migration (60s), workers settled here due to proximity to jobs in London, and cheap housing
- Tertiary/Quaternary sector boom (2000s), led to TNCs setting up HQs in SE as is well connected nationally (rail+M4), migrants also settle as houses are cheaper than in London
- Grammar Schools have high quality education, attract families

A
Historically secondary sector dominated
- When TNCs pulled out, mass unemployment, some moved elsewhere
