Dominant response
In an individual’s hierarchy of responses the response he or she is most likely to make
Social facilitation
Initially a term for enhance performance in the presence of others; now a broader term for the effect – positive or negative – of the presence of others on performance
Evaluation apprehension
People’s concern about how they might appear in the eyes of others – that is, about being evaluated
Distraction – conflict theory
The idea that being aware of another persons presence creates a conflict between attending to that person and attending to the task at hand, and that this tensional conflict is arousing and produces social facilitation affects
Social loafing
Tendency to exert less effort when working in a group task in which individual contributions cannot be monitored
Groupthink
Kind of faulty thinking but highly cohesive groups in which the critical scrutiny that should be devoted to the issues at hand is supported by social pressures to reach consensus

Tendency to withhold information or opinions in group discussions

Tendency for groups to make risk your decisions than individuals would
Group polarization
Tendency for group decisions to be more extreme then throws me by individuals whatever way to individuals are leaning, group discussion tends to make them leave further in that direction.
Power
The ability to control her own outcomes and those of others. The freedom to act.
Status
Outcome of an evaluation of attributes that produces differences and respect and prominence, which in part determine and individuals power with in the group.
Authority
How is it derives from institutionalize roles or arrangements
Dominance
Behavior and acted with the goal of acquiring or demonstrating power
Approach/inhibition theory
High-power individuals are inclined to go after their goals and make quick judgments, whereas low-power individuals are more likely to constrain their behavior and attend to others carefully
Deindividuation
Reduced sense of individual identity accompanied by diminish self-regulation that comes over people when they’re in a large group
