1.2 Four Levels of Measurement Flashcards
Nominal Level
Categorized using names, labels, or qualities. No mathematical computations can be made at this level.
Ordinal Level
Data can be arrange in order, but differences between data entries are not meaningful
Interval Level
Can be ordered, calculate meaningful differences between data entries, A zero entry simply represents a position on a scale.
Ratio Level
Same as interval level, a zero entry is an inherent zero
Qualitative Data
QUALITY, consists of attributes, labels, or non numerical entries
Quantitative Data
QUANTITY, consists of numerical measurements or counts
Put in a Category
Nominal Level
Put in a Category and Put in Order
Ordinal Level
Put in a Category, Put in Order and Find Differences between Values
Interval Level
Put in a Category, Put in Order, Find Differences between values, and find Ratios of Values
Ratio Level
